The Abbington Wedding // Glen Ellyn, IL
We have such a glitzy (but perfectly understated) glamorous wedding to start the week, and you all know that we love a little sparkle, yes? That’s why Nicole & Perry’s wedding is right up our alley! This gorgeous duo dreamed up this dazzling vignette with a whimsical twist to inspire us on this Wednesday. With a color story combining white, silver and pops of purple, they crafted a glamorous and effortlessly romantic theme. Ideal for a late fall wedding- this fete is one to charm your socks off!
Nicole’s extravagant and sparkly Jasmine dress looks incredibly glamorous as the pair dance the night away in a room bursting with love. With her girls by her side dressed in one of our favorite Belsoie numbers, L144017, complete with a halter illusion neckline- this one is sure to please!
The entire room was cast in a soft lilac glow that played perfectly with the hints of metallic and white décor. From their first look to their last dance, the celebration was punctuated by luxurious décor and elegant colors and we can’t get enough!
From the bride herself:
THE Dress
“I had a fully beaded Jasmine Couture gown, with a scalloped edge train. The dress came with a netted back and sparkly thin straps that I had removed and made into a deep V and sweetheart neckline. I had the dress taken in at the knees to make it more mermaid like. I added a cathedral veil with Swarovski crystals scattered on it, as well as a short veil with crystals amongst the edges.
I loved everything about the dress as soon as I put it on! I think it was the third dress I tried on at Jasmine, and I didn’t want to take it off! It made me so happy, and I felt exactly how I wanted to feel on my wedding, I felt perfect and beautiful in it. Being fully beaded and about 6 sizes too big on me when I tried it on, I didn’t even realize how heavy it really was. I just wanted to keep walking up and down the runway with it on. And then you girls dolled me up with flowers, jewelry and a double veil. To me, it was Heaven.
That day I left with my dress, a beautiful hairpiece, a cathedral length veil and a short veil and couldn’t be happier about my purchases, they each were everything I was looking for!
Jasmine was such a welcoming place to be at, a fun environment, and I really felt like all the consultants that worked with us really cared. I recommend you to everyone!”
The Theme
“I was going for a glamorous, whimsical look. White, Silver and a pop of the purple, soft ostrich feather accents and a whole lot of bling! We had candles mixed in with the floral centerpieces to softly light the room, purple up-lighting against the white walls and a whole lot of love filled the room.
We wanted it to be fun for our guests, but also Elegant, glamorous and whimsical.”
The Romance
“Effortless love.”
First Meeting
“We met at a mutual friends backyard party! He and I went for a walk and spent hours walking, talking and laughing!”
First Date
“Our first dates were interesting! We did unusual things like ghost hunting and grocery shopping, until one day we finally went to dinner and a movie.”
‘The One’ Moment
“I knew right away Perry was the one. He made me feel comfortable and I was able to be myself, let my guard down, and I really enjoyed every moment I was with him. He is always making me smile and laugh!”
The Proposal
“Perry did an amazing job. I was going out with friends to celebrate the holidays and someone (Perry) interfered when we were at breakfast. At breakfast we were handed a video camera and a note card which had a clue on it leading to a day full of surprises. After breakfast we went to get massages and another clue leading to get our nails done, with another clue sending us downtown to a hotel to get ready, and a clue lead us to a wine reception and then a final clue to Alahambra Palace. All the while the video camera was in our faces capturing every moment of the day. And thinking Perry was at work, I was sending him text messages about what was happening- I thought it was a friends boyfriend who lives out of town, surprising her! We all got blindfolded as we got out of the car, and shuffled into the restaurant. It was silent! Then POOF! The blindfold came off and Perry was standing there. After he said the most beautiful words, he spun me around to see that I was in the center of an open ballroom, with all of our family and friends watching from the balcony. And I found out my girlfriends were in on the surprise from the beginning! It was perfect.”
Final Thoughts & Advice:
“Overall the day was absolutely perfect. I enjoyed every moment of it and was actually kind of sad when it was over, I have said numerous times I wish we could do it all over again, because I had so much fun and loved every detail.
If I were to do anything differently, I would plan my morning out better, I felt like we had all this extra time, and then all of a sudden we were late.
I think the greatest challenge was staying on budget! We didn’t account for little things, like stamps, or thank you cards and some other little things- these add up; don’t forget about them!
My best advice to Brides would be to really, really cherish every moment of your planning and your special day; even the not so great moments! It is all happening for a reason and is creating “your story”! And to take a few minutes at your wedding, and just watch everyone…see the room, see the people, and see It all come together!”
Congrats Nicole & Perry!
We wish you two a lifetime of love & happiness!
