Wedding Wednesday: Tovah & Luke 12.29.12

Untitled-1

Even though the holiday season is coming to a close, its lingering warmth and majesty still keeps our hearts warm during the bitterness of January. And like a hot cup of cocoa on a chilly afternoon, thoughts of our Jasmine December bride, Tovah, and her dream holiday nuptials certainly keep the winter chill at bay!

Tovah & Luke’s holiday wedding began at St. Hyacinth Basilica in Chicago on December 29, 2012. Tovah’s tiered satin wedding gown, coupled with her draping veil, looked as white and luminous as the snow blanketing the ground outside. A bouquet of roses, amaryllis, tulips, hypericum berry, and other assorted scarlet flora, shown like Rudolph’s nose against the white of her dress. Following a more traditional holiday theme, her bridesmaid’s bouquets were full of lime green hypericum berry and red roses. Providing an elegant backdrop were black, one-shouldered, Jasmine B2 dresses.

After exchanging vows and having their first few moments as husband and wife, the two accompanied by their wedding party took pictures at the holiday decorated Palmer House beneath their ornamented Christmas tree. The location held special significance for the couple after becoming engaged there almost exactly a year before, and knowing the location encompassed everything they loved about the holiday season!

The couple ended the night with a reception at Venuti’s in Addison, IL. The warm gold walls provided the perfect background for the birch branch centerpieces standing tall on the guest tables. An ode to the winter season, each branch was adorned with red berries and hanging candles. Even the cake was kissed with crimson flora!

We were honored to be a part of Tovah & Luke’s holiday winter wedding! Their vision encapsulated everything we love about the holiday season, and we’re wishing them much happiness in their future together! In fact, Tovah shared that her and Luke are expecting their first child! AND that today happens to be her birthday! Well, a BIG Happy Birthday from everyone at Jasmine!

Tovah also leaves us with some advice for newly engaged brides:

“Decide the overall [feel] that you want your guests to have when they attend your wedding…and then spend the time creating that.  Once you have a vision or feel, the details can be focused on a bit easier.”

“Most importantly…enjoy the engagement!  Being engaged is such a special time for a couple, and it’s easy to get lost in the planning.  Remember to sit back and celebrate on a regular basis the journey that you are about to embark on in your marriage.”
