Come fall into amore with today’s simply charming Chicago Fairy Tale Engagement! With weddings in full force, lets reminisce back to where it all began, before all the planning, cake tastings (oh, let’s admit- that is our favorite part) and dress fittings. Our lovely and sweet Jasmine bride, Lauren, takes us beautifully back to that moment when she said “YES!” and boy does it make our hearts flutter! Since we weren’t there while their love was sealed on ice, we will let Lauren do the talking : )
“AJ and I met at a Dance Marathon at Iowa State University our freshman year of college. It ended up that we had several mutual friends that I met at ISU that went to his high school in Iowa. From that day on, we kept in touch and eventually started dating in the middle of our sophomore year. I knew it was meant to be from the start.
On January 6th, 2013, my best friend CarriAnne asked me to go ice skating with her at Millenium Park in Chicago. Being that we were both figure skaters for several years, I did not think anything of it. I was excited to get out of the house since AJ and I were living away from each other at the time and I was missing him entirely. We went shopping downtown, had a wonderful dinner, and then went ice skating at the park.
Little did I know, CarriAnne and AJ had a plan of their own up their sleeves! While we were skating, I bent down on the ice to fix my skate, and when I stood up AJ was standing in front of me. I was in complete shock because he was supposed to be in Iowa. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him! At that point, everyone on the ice had formed a circle around us and were clapping and cheering. When the crowd cleared, I saw my family standing there, awaiting anxiously to celebrate with us. His proposal was absolutely perfect and I am so glad I was able to share it with my closest family and friends. We will be saying “I do” on July 12, 2014!”
Congratulations Lauren & AJ- we cannot wait to see your wedding pictures!! Lauren, you will make a beautiful bride and we can’t wait to see you in your gorgeous Jasmine gown!
